Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) – Labor & Delivery is seeking a Unit Coordinator to support a fast-paced, high-volume unit delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. You will coordinate patient flow, admissions, transfers, and liaise between patients, families, and clinicians to ensure smooth operations.

You will work closely with nurses and care teams in a collaborative environment, contributing to excellent service, reliability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Basic familiarity with computers.
• Ability to navigate web-based applications.
• Healthcare administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient flow through the unit.
• Coordinates admissions, discharges, transfers.
• Assists providers and ensures supplies.
• Obtains and communicates information for tests and procedures.
• Coordinates registration for established protocols.
• Greets and directs patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Serves as a point person for resolution of IS issues.
• Answers patient call lights promptly and within role scope.
• Maintains patient care environment with organization and compassion.
