Job summary

Essentia Health’s St. Marys Medical Center in Duluth is seeking a patient placement coordinator who provides clinical leadership to ensure proper patient placement and smooth flow across units.

You will coordinate transfers, relay information on conditions, medications, and diagnostics, and collaborate with nursing staff to uphold the vision and standards of Essentia Health. This 0.8 FTE day/evening/night role offers stable scheduling and a dedicated team environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Bachelor’s degree, ideally in health care, nursing, or a related field.
• 1 year of healthcare experience is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all patient placement activity.
• Receives requests for information on medical conditions, medications and diagnostic tests.
• Assist with the coordination of patient transfers from referring facilities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in health care or related field
