Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a patient flow coordinator to optimize placement across East Market facilities. You will provide clinical leadership and collaborate with nursing and support staff to implement the organization's vision and standards in your areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities include coordinating patient placement, handling information requests about medical conditions and tests, and facilitating transfers from referring facilities through the STAT doc line.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing, or related field (required)
• 1 year of healthcare experience (preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (required)
• Strong understanding of medical terminology (required)

Job Description:

This position coordinates all aspects of patient flow throughout the East Market. Coordinates activities between defined areas and provides clinical leadership and expertise to ensure proper patient placement. Facilitates an atmosphere of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and others. Has major responsibility for the implementation of the vision, mission, plans, and standards of the organization and nursing services within their defined areas of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinates all patient placement activity
• Receives requests for information on medical conditions, medications and diagnostic tests
• Will assist with the coordination of patient transfers from referring facilities calling in to the Essentia Health STAT doc line

Educational Requirements:

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree, ideally in health care, nursing, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of healthcare experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of medical terminology

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

• FTE: 0.8
