Qualifications

• Requires knowledge typically obtained through an Associate’s Degree with a focus in social work, healthcare administration or finance.
• Three years of diversified experience in hospital Patient Registration/Financial Services setting.
• Strong interpersonal, communications and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre-registration/registration processes and verifies insurance benefits.
• verifications and authorizations throughout patient’s treatment.
• Provides financial counseling to patients and families and explains insurance and billing options.
• Assists patients without insurance to access funding resources.
• Acts as liaison between patient, PFS department and payer to maximize reimbursement.
• Calculates patient liability and collects deposits and co-payments.
• Leads and trains other members of the financial team as needed.
• Works independently in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely patient care.
