Banner Health's Banner Desert Medical Center Neurosurgery in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Part-time Patient Financial Specialist per diem to coordinate, verify insurance, counsel patients, and support the care team.

As a key member of the revenue cycle, you will pre-register, obtain authorizations, compute patient liability, and navigate funding options for uninsured patients while maintaining strong communication with clinical staff and payors.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in social work, healthcare administration or finance.
• At least 3 years of diversified experience in a hospital Patient Registration/Financial Services setting.
• Strong interpersonal, communications and human relations skills.
• Accurate and efficient keyboarding, with organizational and time management abilities.

Responsabilités

• Performs pre-registration/registration processes and verifies insurance benefits.
• Verifies insurance coverage and obtains required authorizations/notifications.
• Provides financial counseling to patients and families on billing issues and resources.
• Assists uninsured patients to access funding resources and complete required documents.
• Acts as a liaison between patients, PFS dept and payers to maximize receivables.
• Calculates patient liability and collects deposits and co-payments.
• May provide leadership/training to other financial team members.
• Works independently in a fast-paced environment prioritizing patient care.
