Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, OH is seeking a Financial Counselor to guide inpatients and outpatients on financial responsibilities. You will be the primary contact for families regarding financial assistance and insurance eligibility, and will partner with managed care to verify coverage and determine benefits.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, collecting information, completing charity applications, documenting in EPIC, and coordinating with Patient Accounts.

Competenze

• High school diploma required; associates degree preferred.
• Two years' experience in registration, collections, billing or related medical field preferred.
• Familiarity with government, commercial and third-party billing preferred.

Mansioni

• Counsel patients and families on financial responsibility for inpatient and outpatient care.
• Serve as primary contact for financial assistance and insurance coverage eligibility.
• Coordinate with managed care to verify insurance and pre-certification and determine benefits.
• Complete charity applications and forward for final review; document in EPIC system.
• Respond to inquiries regarding patient accounts and charity policies.
