Responsibilities include analyzing coverage, obtaining authorizations, updating billing data, and resolving claim denials.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school education with some postsecondary education preferred.
  • Two years of hospital service access, clinical service access, physician office or billing and collections experience, or an Associate's degree with one year of public interaction.
  • Bachelor's degree with one year of public interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze insurance coverage and benefits to ensure timely processing.
  • Obtain authorizations according to insurance plan contracts and guidelines.
  • Document billing system and update patient records.
  • Explain bills and assist visitors and patients with questions.
  • Admit, register and pre-register patients with accurate data.
  • Resolve insurance claim denials and ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Greet patients and resolve inquiries per policy and procedure.
  • Refer patients to financial counseling when needed.
