Job summary

US Oncology Network’s Texas Oncology clinic in Cleburne, TX seeks a Patient Benefits Representative to educate patients on insurance coverage and benefits, assess financial needs, and manage cost estimates and forms. The role supports pre‑treatment coordination and billing processes in a community oncology setting.

Ideal candidates will have strong computer skills, CPT/HCPCS knowledge, and experience with patient financial assistance programs, with a focus on accuracy and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding.
• Must be able to verbally communicate clearly.
• Must complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.
• Associates degree in Finance, Business or four years revenue cycle experience preferred.
• Minimum three years pre-services coordinator experience and two years of patient benefits experience required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain insurance coverage information and demographics; educate patient on coverage, benefits, co-pays, deductibles.
• Assess patients' ability to meet expenses and discuss payment arrangements; educate on financial assistance.
• Complete Patient Cost Estimate form based on diagnosis and coverage.
• Complete reimbursement and liability forms for patient review and signature.
• Obtain insurance pre-authorization or referral codes from Clinical Reviewer.
• Review patient account balance and notify front desk of patients to meet with.
• Ensure correct co-pay entry in system for front desk collection.
• Verify and update demographics and coverage at each patient visit.
• Stay current on financial aide; develop relationships with providers.
• Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA; maintain manuals and logs.
