Job summary

The US Oncology Network's Texas Oncology clinic in Cedar Park, TX is seeking a Patient Benefits Representative. This full-time role supports the Medical Oncology Department at 1404 Medical Parkway Building C Suite 200, with travel to Marble Falls.

You will educate patients on insurance coverage and benefits, assess financial ability, and assist with assistance programs. You will update eligibility in the system and coordinate with billing for pre-authorization and payments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three+ years patient pre-services coordinator or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Demonstrate knowledge of CPT coding and HCPCS coding.
• Clear verbal communication and proper terminology usage.
• Must complete required e-learning within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients on insurance coverage, benefits, co-pays, deductibles and out-of-pocket costs before treatment.
• Assess financial ability and discuss payment options; assist with financial aid programs.
• Complete reimbursement and liability forms for patient review and signature; forward to billing.
• Obtain insurance pre-authorization or referral codes prior to treatment.
• Verify and update patient demographics and coverage at visits.
