Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Patient Service Specialist to deliver a patient-first experience, handling scheduling, pre-registration, MyChart enrollment and visit preparations. The role requires strong customer service, attention to detail and ability to work rotating shifts across weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities include registration, insurance verification, patient education on front-end technology and assisting patients with financial counseling as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance processing or customer service
• An Associate's Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor's Degree
• Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer services and conflict resolution

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive, proactive and "Patients First" experience for patients and visitors.
• Investigate, triage and resolve patient issues using the HEART model.
• Create a welcoming and professional environment; interact with patients and ensure stellar experiences.
• Capture and verify referrals and cancellation reasons, insurance coverage and physician data.
• Provide patient estimates for services accurately.
• Identify patients needing financial counseling and assist with insurance alignment.
• Register patients, prepare visits, perform telephone triage, verify insurance, collect co-pays.
• Educate patients on MyChart and Appointment Pass; encourage use of front-end technology.
• Maintain confidential patient information and schedules.
