Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a Patient Service Representative (PSR) to be the first point of contact for patients. You will greet, register, and assist patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and support billing and regulatory processes.

This role emphasizes privacy and collaboration with care teams in a high-volume clinic setting. You will work to ensure accurate data entry in EMR, manage insurance coordination, and collect payments while delivering excellent customer service

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in/out patients, verify information, and assist with registration.
• Provide courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person, or via secure messaging.
• Schedule appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Assist patients in completing forms for regulatory and billing needs; educate on financial aspects.
• Proactively request and process payments following appropriate procedures while maintaining accuracy in EMR.
