Job summary

AEG is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations, patient flow, and coordination across care teams. You will greet patients, answer calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and enter data in EMR.

The role emphasizes proactive communication, efficiency, confidentiality, and collaboration with clinical and optical teams to ensure smooth visits and positive patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to learn EMR and practice management systems.

• Ability to identify issues proactively and contribute to solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors in a friendly, professional manner; be the primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage email or digital communications promptly.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules, including cancellations and reschedules.
• Run appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows and prep patients for visits.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics; enter data in EMR accurately.
• Explain coverage and patient financial responsibility clearly.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation before visits to support flow.
• Record charges and payments in EMR; balance postings and assist with claims.
• Run daily reports to ensure billing is up to date.
• Monitor patient flow and provider schedules; adjust as needed for efficiency.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients to maintain a positive experience.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for smooth transitions during visits.
• Support recall and reactivation outreach for ongoing care.
