Job summary

Intermountain Health's Patient Service Representative (PSR) serves as the first point of contact for patients at the Washington Fields Clinic in St. George, UT. The role handles greeting, check-in/out, enrollment, appointment scheduling, and insurance verification to ensure a smooth care experience.

The PSR documents interactions in the EMR, collects payments, assists with forms, and maintains PHI privacy. A customer-service background and basic computer skills are required; bilingual abilities

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience involving interactions with customers.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to protect privacy and PHI of patients, members and caregivers.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver service.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check-in/out patients in person or by phone and secure messaging.
• Verify information and register patients with required demographic data.
• Document all calls accurately in the EMR and schedule appointments.
• Obtain insurance cards and forms; assist with pre-certification and authorization.
• Educate patients on financial responsibilities and assist with forms.
• Process payments and ensure confidentiality of PHI.
