Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a friendly Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. You will answer phones, route messages, assist with Epic scheduling/registration, and support daily clerical tasks in a busy health system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous medical reception or reception experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of Epic preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Basic keyboard skills and medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming telephone calls and routes to appropriate personnel, including Epic message routing.
• Welcomes visitors and manages lobby access and directions.
• Processes mail, faxes, and office supplies; supports basic clerical duties.
• Performs scheduling/registration in Epic and verifies patient demographics and insurance details.
• Assists patients with MyChart signups and responds to messages in a timely manner.
• Maintains privacy and confidentiality per policies and procedures.
