Job summary

Johns Hopkins is seeking a Patient Service Coordinator to provide friendly, confidential assistance to patients and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information. The role involves scheduling laboratory tests, coordinating department visits, and guiding patients through pre-registration and check-out processes.

The PSC will collaborate with a team to ensure a positive patient experience at the Columbia Center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
• One year work experience in customer service required. Two years related work experience preferred.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience tothe extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

• Schedules patients for laboratory tests, medical examinations, and consultations.
• Relays information to patients regarding preparation for laboratory tests and examinations.
• Coordinates visits either within the department or between several departments.
• Automates pre-registration, check-in and check-out processes to expedite the patient encounter.
• Verifies and enters patient demographic and insurance information into the computer system.
