Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or graduation equivalent and certification/registration as a Medical Assistant (e.g. CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP) required.
• One year of work experience in customer service.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

• Offer friendly, courteous, and confidential patient assistance to ensure a positive experience.
• Maintain accurate patient information to facilitate encounters and scheduling.
• Schedule labs, tests, and consultations; relay prep instructions.
• Process pre-registration, check-in, and check-out using computerized systems.
• Verify demographics and insurance data; enter into the system.
• Obtain pre-certifications and assist with financing options.
• Explain costs and assist with transportation arrangements.
