Job summary

Johns Hopkins University in Maryland seeks a Patient Service Coordinator/Medical Assistant to provide friendly, confidential assistance to every patient and ensure a positive experience at Johns Hopkins at Greenspring Station.

You will maintain accurate patient information, use automated systems for scheduling, pre-registration, check-in and check-out, and work with a team to coordinate visits across departments. The role includes clinical support under supervision and a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or graduation equivalent and certification/registration as a Medical Assistant (e.g. CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP) required.
• One year of work experience in customer service.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience per the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

• Offer friendly, courteous, and confidential assistance to every patient to ensure a positive experience.
• Schedule patients for laboratory tests, medical examinations, and consultations; relay preparation information.
• Register patients for clinical appointments using computerized systems; verify demographics & insurance.
• Obtain pre-certifications as required by insurers; arrange patient transportation as needed.
• Answer phones and provide routine information; assist with admission and administrative tasks.
• Input charges to TAP system; assist with billing and exploring financing options.
