Job summary

AEG in Ohio is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to lead front desk operations and support patient flow across the care team. You will help optimize schedules, coordinate with clinicians, and ensure a smooth, patient-centered experience.

You will greet patients, manage calls and emails, verify insurance, enter demographics in EMR, and assist with billing steps. The role requires strong organization, clear communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic computer literacy and EMR familiarity.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and act as primary contact.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails.
• Schedule appointments and optimize provider schedules.
• Confirm appointments and reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and enter data in EMR.
• Explain coverage and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts in advance.
• Record charges and payments in EMR; assist billing.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor patient flow and adjust schedules.
• Communicate wait times and next steps.
• Coordinate with clinical/optical teams for transitions.
• Support retention via recall and follow-up.
• Maintain organized front office.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
