Patient First in Newport News, VA is seeking a friendly front desk clerk to assist patients, register them in the EMR, and support center operations.

You will greet patients, collect payments, explain billing policies, verify insurance and demographic data, and maintain orderly front-office areas.

This role requires good typing, communication, and multitasking; you may be asked to work at any center as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Basic typing skills.
• Minimum one year of clerical experience preferred.
• High school graduate or equivalent.

Responsabilités

• Assist patients using the kiosk prior to registration.
• Escort patients needing emergency assistance to the treatment area.
• Respectfully handle Physician and Nurse requests in a timely manner.
• Communicate information about billing policies to patients as needed.
• Accurately register patients with excellent customer service, compassion, and kindness.
• Verify patient demographics, health, pharmacy, and insurance information.
• Answer billing and insurance questions and provide itemized billing statements.
• Collect money and issue receipts for visits and supplies.
• Discharge the patient and process incurred charges.
• Complete cash management duties at end of shift.
• Receive, send, and distribute correspondence.
• File and scan medical documents and office forms.
• Answer incoming calls and relay messages promptly.
• Provide positive, warm, and friendly service in all interactions.
