Job summary

VillageMD in New York is hiring a Patient Service Representative to warmly welcome incoming patients at CityMD locations. You will register patients, coordinate appointments, and manage front desk workflows to ensure timely patient turnover.

The role requires a high school diploma, strong communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced setting. Bilingual skills are a plus; training on EHR systems is provided. Standard duties include phone inquiries, paperwork, and insurance screening.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Happy, welcoming, can-do attitude with patients and coworkers.
• Experience in high-volume/high-intensity service environments preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and a team player.
• Proficient computer skills and keyboarding (55 wpm).
• Flexible/adaptable to evolving environments.
• Passion for helping others in healthcare.
• Ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients and staff.
• Bilingual skills required or preferred by site location.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and welcoming patients.
• Organizing and coordinating patient intake and other appointments.
• Entering/updating patient information in the system.
• Assisting patients with paperwork when needed.
• Scanning, updating and filing medical records.
• Answering phone calls promptly and politely.
• Processing insurance information and verifying eligibility; liaising with Billing as needed.
• Handling cash and co-payments accurately.
• Providing outstanding customer service to every patient.
• Informing site manager of wait times and patient inquiries.
