Job summary

American Oncology Network is seeking a Patient Services Specialist to deliver front-end patient support across intake, scheduling, medical records, and financial transactions. You will ensure accurate documentation, friendly service, and smooth coordination of care within cross-functional teams.

The role involves greeting patients, managing registrations, updating demographics, handling payments, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting; physician office experience preferred
• Demonstrated customer service focus with strong attention to detail and multitasking ability

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and caregivers professionally to create a welcoming, supportive environment
• Accurately check in patients, verify identity, and document arrival status in the EMR
• Collect, document, and post patient payments and co-pays; issue receipts and notify Financial Counselor when payment cannot be made
• Schedule and manage patient appointments, including new patients, follow-ups, treatments, and referrals
• Maintain physician schedules and coordinate requests related to schedule changes and meetings
• Create, maintain, and update patient charts in the EMR and billing systems
• Respond to medical record requests in accordance with HIPAA and policy
• Balance cash drawers and handle funds according to procedures
