Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations, patient flow, and schedule optimization. You will interface with patients, providers, and the care team to ensure a smooth, high-quality experience.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, handling communications, validating insurance, and maintaining accurate EMR records. This role emphasizes teamwork, confidentiality, and proactive scheduling in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn practice management systems (EMR).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered service focus.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, customers, and vendors in a friendly, professional manner; primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails professionally.
• Schedule patient appointments and support provider schedule optimization.
• Execute appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and enter patient demographics in EMR accurately.
• Explain coverage and patient financial responsibility to patients.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation ahead of visits for efficient flow.
• Enter and post charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR; balance accounts as needed.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and adjust schedules to avoid bottlenecks.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for seamless patient transitions.
• Support retention via recall and follow-up for annual and medically necessary visits.
