Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Liaison to oversee the patient experience and optimize resource use within the practice. You will build strong relationships, provide information, and advocate for patients as needed.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, communicating with patients and staff, assisting with data collection, resolving billing issues, registering patients, and conducting follow-ups to ensure adherence to treatment plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience.
• Experience in a customer service role.

Responsibilities

• Manages schedules to optimize resources including providers, rooms and equipment.
• Performs schedule maintenance and coordinates care alternatives for patients impacted by changes.
• Communicates with patients and clinical staff to ensure compliance with treatment plans.
• Assists Practice Manager with data collection and analysis related to physician productivity and resource utilization.
• Facilitates resolution of billing errors and denials and coordinates pre-certifications/referrals as needed.
• Registers patients and schedules or coordinates appointments.
• Provides patient education information and materials as needed.
• Maintains strong relationships with patients, internal providers, staff, and external departments.
• Answers inquiries from patients, providers, staff and others related to practice operations.
• Follows up with patients to ensure compliance with testing, prescriptions, and care plans.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
