The Patient Liaison at Northwestern Medicine oversees the service experience for all patients and ensures optimal use of practice resources. The role emphasizes building strong relationships, providing information, and advocating for patients as needed.

Key duties include managing schedules, coordinating care, communicating with patients and staff, assisting with data collection on physician productivity, and addressing billing issues.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience.
• Experience in a customer service role.

Responsibilities

• Manages schedules to optimize resources including providers, rooms and equipment.
• Performs schedule maintenance and coordinates care alternatives for patient changes.
• Communicates with patients and staff to ensure adherence to treatment plans.
• Supports data collection and analysis related to physician productivity.
• Facilitates resolution of billing errors and obtains pre-certifications or referrals as needed.
• Registers patients and schedules or coordinates appointments.
• Provides patient education materials as needed.
• Maintains strong relationships with patients, providers and vendors.
• Answers inquiries from patients, providers and staff about operations.
• Follows up with patients to ensure testing and plan adherence.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
