Job summary

Athletico Physical Therapy in Chicago is seeking a Patient Experience Coordinator (PEC) to ensure accurate patient intake and financial clearance, delivering a seamless front-office experience while maintaining data integrity and supporting revenue cycle performance. The PEC reports to the Clinic Manager and collaborates with clinical teams, receiving support from the Patient Experience Specialist.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service in a high-volume, patient-facing environment.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and scheduling platforms; data accuracy in dashboards and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of insurance verification processes, prior authorizations, and financial clearance workflows.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and provide an exceptional front-office experience.
• Complete patient intake and registration with demographic verification and insurance eligibility.
• Educate patients on financial responsibilities and payment options.
• Collect time-of-service payments and meet collection targets.
• Manage clinic scheduling workflows to optimize provider availability.
• Monitor KPIs for registration accuracy, insurance verification turnaround, and patient satisfaction.
• Collaborate with PES, Billing, and Clinical Ops to resolve issues.
• Coordinate communication of patient progress notes to referral sources.
• Support clinic engagement through patient milestone events and community activities.
• Participate in training and cross-training programs to maintain front-office proficiency.
