Turnwell Mental Health Network Inc is seeking a Patient Support Specialist (PSS) to be the welcoming face of our clinics in Yankton, SD. You will manage front-office operations, greet patients, handle check-in, verify insurance, and process payments with accuracy.

You will also coordinate appointment reminders, support chart auditing, and maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records in our EHR system, with cross-training in select clinical tasks to ensure continuity of care when staff are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Experience in front office, patient access, or healthcare customer service is preferred.
• Experience with EHR systems and standard office software is required; psychiatric EHR familiarity is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication with a professional, empathetic demeanor.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.

Responsabilités

• Greet and welcome patients, manage check-in, verify demographics and insurance information.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and send reminders via phone, text, or patient portal.
• Answer and route calls; direct to appropriate team member or department.
• Collect co-pays and payments at the time of service.
• Perform chart audits and ensure documentation completeness before visits.
• Maintain accurate records in the EHR and support HIPAA-compliant release of information.
