University Hospitals Urgent Care is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact, delivering a welcoming, efficient patient experience and supporting front-office operations.

The role involves greeting patients, handling documentation, insurance verification, collecting payments, coordinating with staff, maintaining HIPAA compliance, and traveling to other UH Urgent Care locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Administrative Assistant certificate a plus.
• Experience: 1+ year in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, multitasking in a busy environment.
• Technical: Experience with EMR software; EPIC preferred.
• Flexibility: Availability for 12-hour shifts, some weekends and holidays.
• Team player: Proactive, friendly, patient-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Warm welcome to patients and visitors with a positive attitude.
• Maintain confidentiality while collecting and organizing documents.
• Verify insurance and explain payment policies and billing details.
• Determine and collect patients' financial responsibility.
• Support the practice manager, providers, and staff for daily operations.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and guidelines.
• Perform administrative duties and operate office equipment.
• Oversee quality assurance and patient result tracking.
• Travel to other UH Urgent Care locations as needed.
