Job summary

East Hawaii Region of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation is seeking a Clinic Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients, helping create a welcoming, organized clinic experience. You will support patients and staff to ensure high-quality outpatient care in East Hawaii clinics.

Responsibilities include greeting and registering patients, scheduling appointments, handling documentation, and assisting with payments and referrals.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of responsible clerical or administrative experience.
• Six (6) months of clerical duties in healthcare/clinic setting (II level).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; multitasking; customer service.
• Typing: net speed of 40 words per minute with accuracy (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, verify insurance, and ensure documentation is accurate.
• Schedule appointments, provide reminders, and share pre-visit instructions.
• Prepare patient charts, verify authorizations, and coordinate referrals and transfers.
• Answer calls, relay messages, and assist with patient inquiries.
• Process payments, issue receipts, and discuss financial options.
• Maintain patient records and assist with clerical tasks.
