Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery in Mechanicsville, VA is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our front-office team. You will welcome patients, check in/out, collect payments, and ensure accurate scheduling while supporting insurance pre-authorizations and referrals.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of customer service experience in a medical or dental setting, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of customer service experience required.
• Experience in a medical or dental practice required.
• Knowledge of insurance processes and verifications.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Confirm and update patient identification, demographic, and insurance information.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation for upcoming appointments.
• Perform all check-in and check-out functions, including collecting necessary information and payments.
• Obtain patient consents/authorizations and process insurance pre-authorizations and referrals.
• Answer incoming calls promptly, document messages, and route inquiries to appropriate personnel.
• Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments as needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized medical records.
• Support overall front-office operations and assist with other duties as assigned.
