Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a positive, seamless experience at the front desk. You will manage check-in/check-out workflows and coordinate with clinical and administrative teams.

In addition to delivering outstanding service, you will explain patient financial responsibilities, collect payments, discuss payment options, and document conversations and outcomes with accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with patients and staff.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills, including data entry and word processing.
• Excellent customer service skills for a courteous patient experience.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow privacy policies.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle unexpected situations.
• Attend and complete Clinic Core Front Desk Training post-hire.
• Ability to discuss patient financial responsibility and payment options professionally.
• Ability to respond to patient questions while maintaining a positive experience.
• Follow and document established patient collection and financial-assistance workflows.
