Job summary

Healogics is seeking a Patient Navigator to manage front office functions and support the staff of an outpatient wound care center. Responsibilities include scheduling, patient communications, insurance verification, and chart management.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (associate degree preferred) and 2+ years of medical office experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of office administration experience, preferably in a medical setting; prior medical coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with Center leadership to maximize daily patient census.
  • Greets patients and visitors, answers and routes calls to appropriate staff.
  • Maintains all patient communication needs including scheduling, rescheduling, and appointment reminders.
  • Obtains and verifies patient insurance information, including pre-certifications and pre-authorizations.
  • Collects and enters patient charges in databases; reconciles charges as directed.
  • Assembles new patient charts and maintains existing charts with signatures.
  • Coordinates/schedules ancillary testing with other hospital departments.
  • Arranges for patient transportation as needed.
  • Maintains office equipment and medical supplies as directed.
  • Performs other duties as required.
