Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our Primary Care team in Westfield, Massachusetts. This full-time role supports patient flow, verifies demographics, referrals, and pre-authorizations, and prepares documentation for processing while upholding HIPAA.

Responsibilities include insurance verification, collecting co-pays, scheduling appointments, checking out patients, and routing communications. Career ladder options (PSR I–IV) are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6–18 months PSR experience preferred (PSR I or II) or 3 years preferred (PSR III).
• PSR IV is available for internal career ladder.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics; check referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Request and verify insurance; use automated systems to confirm coverage.
• Collect co-pays and document payments; update patient accounts.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments per guidelines.
• Process check-out, schedule future visits, and provide referrals.
• Route calls and manage inbox messages; prepare documents per HIPAA.
