Job summary

Baystate Health seeks a dedicated Patient Service Representative to join the Primary Care team in Westfield, MA. You will handle patient reception, registration, demographics, and insurance verification to support high-quality care.

In this role you will manage scheduling, check-out processes, and patient communications, while maintaining HIPAA compliance. A strong customer service mindset and 6–18 months of PSR experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6–18 months experience preferred (PSR I or II) or 3 years preferred (PSR III).

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics; gather referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Verify insurance coverage using automated systems and document results.
• Request and record co-payments or outstanding balances.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments per practice guidelines.
• Review patient information at checkout; schedule future visits and provide referrals.
• Answer calls, route messages, and prepare documents in HIPAA-compliant manner.
