Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator for our mobile unit in American Fork, Utah. This full-time role focuses on delivering a positive patient experience, handling registration in multiple systems, and coordinating care with patients and staff.

The position requires strong customer service, organization, and communication skills, plus CPR before hire and a valid driver's license where applicable. You will work across various sites as needed, ensuring HIPAA-compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state driver's license may be required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Will perform patient registration in various systems.
• Answers all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
• May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• May be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
• May perform preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures, which may include medical history.
• May transport patient to/from the exam room.
• May assist in patient transfer on/off the exam table.
• May provide the patient with preliminary and post-procedure instructions.
