Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Patient Coordinator for our mobile imaging units around the Seattle area. This PRN role supports patient registration, front-desk duties, insurance verification, and transportation within the unit, ensuring a smooth patient experience.

You will greet patients, answer calls, schedule appointments, collect payments, and maintain HIPAA-compliant records in electronic systems. Travel to multiple sites may be required; CPR certification is required before hire for mobile

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
• CPR certification required for Mobile Radiology/Oncology hires.
• Valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work at multiple locations.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems.
• Answer all calls professionally and courteously.
• May collect payments for time-of-service.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.
• Provide patient with preliminary and post-procedure instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area; assist in mobile unit prep.
• Document patient visits in electronic systems and on written documents.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage records with HIPAA compliance.
