Job summary

Akumin is hiring a Patient Coordinator at our Austin facility. The role focuses on delivering excellent patient experiences, registering patients, and maintaining accurate records. You will communicate clearly with patients and staff, assist with insurance verification, and support clinical workflow while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

The position is full-time and requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work at multiple sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire.
• Valid state driver's license may be required.
• Ability to work at several locations.
• COVID-19 vaccination may be required.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.
• Register patients in various systems and verify insurance.
• Answer phone calls professionally and courteously.
• Collect payments for time-of-service patient responsibility.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient records.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient visits in electronic systems.
