Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Medical Office Specialist to support outpatient operations, ensuring smooth check-in, scheduling, registration, and check-out experiences for patients. You will maintain accurate EMR data, handle front-end duties, and assist the care team to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role requires at least 1 year in customer service, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite. Travel to multiple locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience working with the public in a customer service setting.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.
• Manage patient check-in/check-out processes and collect copays; verify demographics and insurance as needed.
• Enter patient demographic information into the EMR; assist with e-check in, iPad, kiosks as required.
• Respond to inquiries via EMR, phone, and email; escalate issues to leadership as appropriate.
