Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Patient Service Representative at Liberty Hospital Urgent Care Shoal Creek to manage front desk operations, check-in, scheduling and insurance verification.

You will greet patients, collect copays, assist with MyChart and EMR requests, coordinate referrals, and support clinicians to maintain efficient patient flow in a busy ambulatory clinic.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of customer service or health care experience.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Visit Scheduling of internal and external referrals.
• Schedules in person appointments, telehealth visits, surgeries and procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of appointment types, locations, providers, and specialties.
• Registers patient during scheduling with demographics and insurance verification.
• Preauthorizes clinic visits and procedures as needed.
• Assist patient with MyChart activation and support.
• Check-in/out and phone reception during visits.
• Collects copays, co-insurance and deductibles at point of service.
