Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital seeks a Patient Experience Experience Representative to support the emergency department's administrative operations. The role focuses on coordinating services for patients and families and delivering courteous, clear communication by phone and in writing.

You will handle patient scheduling, authorizations, triage calls, and routine clerical tasks while contributing to process improvements and hospital initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Prior customer service or administrative experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations
  • Ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies

Responsibilities

  • Provide positive and effective customer service via phone that supports unit operations
  • Collaborate with referring providers and practices via phone
  • Obtain required authorizations to compile patient and staff schedules
  • Schedule patients and support patient encounters
  • Record and forward messages, triaging calls for urgent information or services
  • Provide routine clerical support as needed
