Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; or at least six months of healthcare or customer service experience.
• Preferred: 1 year of administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and patient privacy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and complete check-in procedures; register and verify insurance information.
• Collect copays, deductibles, and/or outstanding balances.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and communicate needed items at checkout.
• Answer phone calls and emails; direct or escalate inquiries as needed.
• Perform clerical tasks: filing, scanning, mail distribution, data entry, and general office support.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient data in accordance with HIPAA.
