Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy.

• Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and greet guests and vendors in a friendly, professional manner.
• Answer and respond to telephone inquiries in a timely manner.
• Gathers and verifies patient and insurance information in the EMR.
• Verifies vision and medical insurance information in EMR.
• Communicates insurance information to patients clearly.
• Checks insurance eligibility before appointments and prepares files.
• Prepares insurance claims and runs reports to ensure charges are billed.
• Prints and prepares forms for patient visits.
• Collects and documents charges, co-pays, and payments in EMR.
• Allocates balances to insurance as needed.
• Maintains a clean workspace and uses supplies efficiently.
• Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
