Job summary

AEG is hiring a Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations and support patient flow across the care team. You will greet patients, answer inquiries, and coordinate appointments while ensuring accurate EMR entries and insurance details.

You will help reduce no-shows with reminders, assist in billing, and maintain a welcoming, organized front office environment. Part-time, on-site in Elk Grove, CA with full-time benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn practice management systems (EMR).
• Strong organizational and communication skills; patient-centered service.
• Collaborative work across care teams.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and act as primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, manage emails promptly.
• Schedule patient appointments and optimize provider schedules.
• Send confirmations/reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and enter patient data in EMR.
• Explain coverage and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation for visits.
• Record charges and manage payments and balances in EMR.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor patient flow and adjust schedules as needed.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for smooth visits.
• Support recall and reactivation outreach for patient retention.
• Maintain an organized front office environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
