Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for patients, combining administrative, clerical, and clinical duties to ensure a seamless experience. You will coordinate check-in/check-out, verify insurance, schedule appointments, and support providers with data collection and patient care.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma as Medical Assistant or LVPG Medical Assistant Trainee completed.
• Strong multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in EMR systems, word processing, and Excel.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with empathy and professionalism.
• Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette.
• Knowledge of clinical workflows, medical terminology, and basic patient care practices.
• BLS - Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.

Responsabilités

• Be the first point of contact for patients and ensure a seamless, high-quality patient experience.
• Coordinate and perform patient check-in/check-out with accurate registration.
• Verify insurance eligibility, collect payments, and process referrals.
• Schedule appointments and optimize clinic workflow.
• Handle patient inquiries and maintain EMR records accurately.
• Maintain logs and quality control procedures.
• Collect patient data and assist with clinical measurements and vitals.
• Assist providers with information gathering and patient evaluation.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure proper sanitation and stocking.
• Collect lab specimens and prepare requisitions.
• Administer medications and vaccinations per orders within scope.
• Support procedures and assist with examinations.
• Complete follow-up calls to patients within 2–3 days post discharge.
