Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA seeks a Cancer Center Concierge to welcome patients, families, visitors, and staff. This onsite role supports smooth daily operations and patient experience across cancer clinics, combining hospitality, service excellence, and proactive patient support.

You will navigate appointments, coordinate volunteers, and support patient-centered programs in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent; Bachelors in Hospitality preferred.
• Experience: 3 years in hospitality industry such as hotel, restaurant, retail or similar; strongly preferred.
• Licensure: None

Responsibilities

• Welcome, assist, and direct patients, families, and visitors throughout the Cancer Center.
• Help patients navigate appointments, services, and clinic locations.
• Provide real-time customer service support and address concerns with professionalism and empathy.
• Coordinate and support volunteers while helping ensure meaningful engagement opportunities for patients and families.
• Assist with special activities and programs including art experiences, pet therapy visits, music events, and other patient-centered initiatives.
• Help coordinate supplies that support volunteer services and patient comfort programs.
• Partner with clinical and operational teams to enhance the overall patient experience.
• Communicate effectively with individuals who may be confused, frustrated, anxious, or in need of additional assistance.
• Identify needs proactively and take initiative to resolve issues before they become barriers to care.
