Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Patient Service Representative (PSR) at the Taylorsville clinic.

You will be the first point of contact, delivering courteous service, handling patient intake, and assisting with registration and billing-related tasks to support smooth patient flow. Responsibilities include confirming demographics, scheduling appointments, and maintaining EMR notes, while protecting PHI and maintaining professional patient interactions across in-person and phone

Qualifications

• Six months of customer service experience.
• Basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver the highest level of customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Provides courteous and professional connections with patients over the phone, in person or via secure messaging.
• Documents all phone calls accurately and completely in the EMR.
• Schedules patient appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and/or consultations.
• Registers patients by confirming, entering, and updating demographic data on the registration system.
• Obtains copies of insurance cards, forms of ID, and signatures on required forms; verifies information for COB and pre-certification when needed.
• Assists patients in completing forms for regulatory and billing needs; educates on financial assistance; proactively requests payments.
• Stays current on role responsibilities and updates to ensure highest standards.
