Job summary

Mercy South Clinic Ob/Gyn in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Patient Service Representative to be the first contact for patients and visitors, greet and register patients, verify identity, and manage front-desk workflows with care.

You will communicate financial responsibilities, collect payments, provide Good Faith Estimates, and support EPIC charting, scheduling, and clinic operations while upholding privacy and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, and billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check-in/out.
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting.
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates.
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow.
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues.
• Handle patient concerns professionally and elevate as needed.
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans.
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications.
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy policies.
