Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Service Representative for the Vascular Services clinic in Saint Louis, MO. You will greet patients, verify identities, register and check in/out, answer phones, and perform essential clerical tasks using EPIC charting and document handling.

You will schedule appointments, coordinate tests, provide cost estimates, monitor provider calendars, and ensure smooth clinic flow while maintaining accurate registrations and billing workflows.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients; verify identity and manage check‑in/check‑out
• Answer phones and perform clerical tasks including Epic charting, scanning, faxing, and document handling
• Schedule appointments, procedures, and testing; provide timely estimates and Good Faith Estimates
• Monitor provider schedules, communicate delays, and coordinate with staff to ensure efficient clinic flow
• Maintain accurate registration, EHRs, and assigned work queues
• Handle patient concerns professionally and elevate as needed
• Manage daily cash drawer, accounts receivable tasks, and payment plans
• Support EPIC updates, departmental initiatives, and clinic communications
• Maintain a safe, clean reception area and adhere to safety, privacy, and infection control policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
