Job summary

Valeris is seeking a patient services advocate to support individuals through their care coordination journey in a fast-paced office team. You will build trusted relationships, explain insurance coverage, and guide patients to available resources and support services.

The role requires strong communication, empathy, and the ability to navigate complex benefits information, while maintaining rigorous documentation and compliance standards. 9:30 AM - 6 PM ET shift is typical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience; high school diploma/GED accepted as required.
• Customer service experience in healthcare is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work an 8.5-hour shift between 8 am and 9 pm, Monday to Friday.
• Bi-lingual in English and Spanish or Chinese/Mandarin is a plus.
• Commitment to care coordination and patient-centered service.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with patients through proactive communication and timely, accurate service.
• Ensure all interactions comply with healthcare laws and regulations.
• Leverage experience with pharmacy benefit products to understand patient needs.
• Conduct program welcome calls and explain available services and resources.
• Use motivational interviewing to involve patients in goal setting and outcomes.
• Explain coverage options and assist with benefits investigations and questions.
• Handle customer inquiries beyond standard reporting processes.
• Articulate complex reimbursement and billing information clearly to patients.
• Document patient enrollment and follow-up activities in the system.
• Coordinate shipment of products through patient assistance programs as needed.
• Support adherence services through nurse follow-up where applicable.
• Identify and connect patients to peer support resources.
