Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in Finance, Business or four years revenue cycle experience preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years medical receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming calls and assesses patient needs.
• Schedules new patient appointments with providers.
• Provides appointment details including time, location and instructions.
• Collects patient demographics and insurance information; enters data into systems.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and pre-authorizations prior to visits.
• Follows up on missing insurance information and copies of medical records.
• Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
