Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Patient Service Representative to support patients and providers in a remote healthcare environment. You will schedule appointments, answer questions, and update records across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

This contract role offers 6 months with potential for permanent hire, a 100% remote schedule, and a pay rate of $20 per hour. Arizona residency is required to satisfy location and eligibility requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment.
• At least 1 year of call center or high-volume phone support experience.
• Experience scheduling appointments, supporting patients, or handling patient access activities.
• Strong customer service and phone communication skills.
• Experience working with medical records, referrals, authorizations, or healthcare claims.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Comfortable spending most of the workday on the phone.
• Experience using computer systems and navigating multiple applications simultaneously.
• Must currently reside in Arizona.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Answer a high volume of incoming patient calls professionally and efficiently.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments for multiple healthcare providers.
• Help patients with general questions, including office information, referrals, and authorizations.
• Review requests received through phone, email, fax, and other communication channels.
• Follow established scheduling guidelines, scripts, and procedures.
• Determine the appropriate appointment type based on patient needs and urgency.
• Communicate preparation instructions for procedures and exams.
• Update patient information and appointment details in healthcare systems.
• Send accurate communications to providers and healthcare offices.
• Maintain accurate records while following healthcare policies and procedures.
• Use Epic, Salesforce, and other systems to manage patient interactions.
